In May, 1994, Antigua & Barbuda release postage stamps honoring the female vocalist in country music. The eight women honored were Patsy Cline, Tanya Tucker, Dolly Parton, Anne Murray, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Reba McEntire and Skeeter Davis.
The newest album by Tammy Wynette, Tammy’s Touch, is promoted for the May 23, 1970 release in a Cashbox Magazine ad which highlights the debut of her latest single, “He Loves Me All The Way”.
The #1 album would produce two hit singles, “He Loves Me All The Way” and “I’ll See Him Through”.

“Stand By Your Man”, the TV-movie based on Tammy Wynette’s autobiography, aired May 13, 1981. Originally scheduled to air on March 31, the movie debut was postponed when that year’s Academy Award telecast was delayed by one night and moved into the film’s slot.
Annette O’Toole portrayed Tammy (shown above [top] with the real Tammy Wynette). Tim McIntire portrayed George Jones and James Hampton was cast as Tammy’s producer, Billy Sherrill (above, bottom photo).

George Jones & Tammy Wynette released “Southern California” in May, 1977. It was one of the three songs recorded earlier in February. The other two were “It Sure Was Good” and “Lovin’ You Lovin’ Me”. The single would peak at #5 and the now divorced duo would not record anything else together for four years.

In April of 1989, Tammy Wynette released the song, “Thank The Cowboy For The Ride” (featured on her Next To You album). The song was recorded and released by Chris LeDoux (October 2, 1948 – March 9, 2005) and included in his 1990 album, Western Underground. Tammy’s version can be heard here, via YouTube.
