The #1 album would produce two hit singles, “He Loves Me All The Way” and “I’ll See Him Through”.

In May, 1968, “D-I-V-O-R-C-E” is released by Tammy Wynette. The single would become her fastest climbing song, topping the charts the next month.
During this period, she headlined the first Red Bay High School Benefit in her hometown, appearing with two of her husbands, (the current) Don Chapel and (the next) George Jones.

“Stand By Your Man”, the TV-movie based on Tammy Wynette’s autobiography, aired May 13, 1981. Originally scheduled to air on March 31, the movie debut was postponed when that year’s Academy Award telecast was delayed by one night and moved into the film’s slot.

George Jones & Tammy Wynette released “Southern California” in May, 1977. It was one of the three songs recorded earlier in February. The other two were “It Sure Was Good” and “Lovin’ You Lovin’ Me”. The single would peak at #5 and the now divorced duo would not record anything else together for four years.

In April of 1989, Tammy Wynette released the song, “Thank The Cowboy For The Ride” (featured on her Next To You album). The song was recorded and released by Chris LeDoux (October 2, 1948 – March 9, 2005) and included in his 1990 album, Western Underground. Tammy’s version can be heard here, via YouTube.

In April, 2010, the Tammy Wynette Highway officially became The Tammy Wynette Memorial Highway (Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour signed a bill in to law at the end of March). New road signs would not be posted until July.
