Six months after Tammy Wynette scored a #1 country hit with “Another Lonely Song”, Andy Williams released a pop version of the song - produced by Tammy’s studio chief, Billy Sherrill.

In late December of 1973, Tammy Wynette released “Another Lonely Song” and in 1974 it would top Billboard’s country singles charts in spite of some die-hard conservative country radio stations banning the song because the lyrics contained the phrase, ‘I shouldn’t give a damn.’
